the chi is an American drama series, produced by Lena Waithe, about a South Side Chicago neighborhood. The director of the pilot was Rick Famuyiwa. The series made its Showtime debut on January 7, 2018. Following the completion of the fourth season in August 2021, it was revealed that the series has been renewed for a fifth season, which premiered on June 24, 2022.
Filmed in Chicago and produced by 20th Television, the coming-of-age story focuses on a group of South Side citizens who are connected by chance, but united by the quest for connection and reconciliation. After Jake (Epps) had a fatal clash with a group of cops, Season 4 highlighted the positives and difficulties of community policing on the South Side.

The first episode of season 5 of The Chi will premiere on streaming and on-demand to all Showtime subscribers on Friday, June 24. At the end of the season, Tiffany is still in doubt between Emmett and Dante, so he decides to move on. Tiffany meets and kisses Rob after choosing Emmett first.
Trig acquires video footage of Douda beating Marcus to convince the mayor to leave town. While on vacation, Roselyn turns out to be the acting mayor. In the fourth season, the relationship between Christian and Keisha is also formalized.
The fifth season is packed with surprising plot twists. Douda and Trig may appear in a subsequent season. Tiffany’s relationship with Rob is expected to cause Emmett’s problems for the foreseeable future. Jada’s most recent tests were negative, indicating she is on the brink of a new chapter after her last chemo session.
