DENVER — A late spring snowstorm in Colorado dumped several inches into the Denver metro area on Saturday, knocking out electricity for about 210,000 customers, officials said.
The wet snow weighed down tree branches and made them fall on power lines, That reports NBC affiliate KUSA from Denver. Much more snow fell in the mountainous regions of Colorado.
Power was restored to 160,000 customers by Saturday night, but about 50,000 still hadn’t got it back, the Xcel Energy Colorado utility said in a statement.
The small Colorado community of Cripple Creek near the base of Pike’s Peak got 20 inches of snow, KUSA reported.
